Request permanent deletion of your MoveTara account and all associated data.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your MoveTara account using either of the two methods below:

Method 1: Delete from Within the App

1 Open MoveTara and go to Settings

Tap your profile icon or navigate to the Settings menu from the bottom navigation bar.

2 Tap Account → Delete Account

Scroll to the bottom of the Account section and tap "Delete Account".

3 Confirm deletion

Verify via OTP or enter your MPIN to confirm. Your account will be scheduled for permanent deletion.

Method 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by sending an email to privacy@movetara.com with the following details:

Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Your registered email address
Your registered phone number
Your role on the platform (Owner / Warden / Tenant)
Reason for deletion (optional)

We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 72 hours.

What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please export any data you need before proceeding.

Upon account deletion, the following actions are taken:

Immediately deleted: Your profile information, phone number, MPIN, push notification tokens, and personal preferences
Immediately deleted: Your session data and device registrations
Retained for 90 days: Operational records (payment history, complaints, tenant stay records) — retained for legal compliance under Indian law, then permanently deleted
Permanently anonymized: Aggregated analytics data that cannot identify you

For Property Owners: If you are a property owner with active tenants and wardens, you must first transfer ownership or remove all tenants and wardens before deleting your account. Contact support@movetara.com for assistance with ownership transfer.
