These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MoveTara Stay mobile application
("App") operated by MoveTara ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), headquartered at Hyderabad, Telangana 500019,
India, founded by Pradhudas Avanigadda and Parise Lakshmi Venkata Subrahmanyam. By downloading, registering on, or using the
App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
MoveTara Stay is a consumer-facing accommodation booking platform that connects users with hostel owners,
PG operators, and co-living space providers ("Property Partners"). MoveTara Stay is a separate product from the
MoveTara hostel management platform. These Terms apply exclusively to MoveTara Stay.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By registering for, accessing, or using MoveTara Stay, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- You are a resident of India or are legally present in India and seeking accommodation
- The information you provide during registration is accurate, complete, and current
- You accept these Terms in full and agree to comply with all applicable laws
If you are booking on behalf of another person, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf
and that the person is aware of and consents to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
MoveTara Stay provides a mobile platform that enables users to:
- Search & Discover: Browse hostels, paying guest (PG) accommodations, and co-living spaces by location, price, amenities, and availability
- View Details: Access property information including photos, amenities, room types, bed availability, pricing, and house rules
- Book & Pay: Reserve beds or rooms with confirmed check-in/check-out dates and make secure payments through Razorpay
- Manage Bookings: View booking status, access check-in details, and manage reservations from within the App
- Rate & Review: Share feedback about your stay to help other users make informed decisions
3. Role of MoveTara Stay
Important: MoveTara Stay acts as an intermediary platform that facilitates the connection between
users seeking accommodation and Property Partners who provide it. Please read this section carefully to understand our role
and responsibilities.
- MoveTara Stay is not a hostel operator, landlord, or accommodation provider. We do not own, operate, manage, or control any listed property
- The accommodation contract is between you and the Property Partner. MoveTara facilitates the booking and payment but is not a party to the accommodation agreement
- MoveTara acts as an e-commerce marketplace under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020
- We facilitate payment collection and remittance through our payment partner (Razorpay) as an agent of the Property Partner for payment purposes only
- While we verify Property Partner information to a reasonable extent, we do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of any listed property
- Property photos, descriptions, and amenity listings are provided by Property Partners. We display them in good faith but cannot guarantee their accuracy at the time of your stay
4. Account Registration & Security
- You must register using a valid Indian mobile phone number (+91). Verification is completed via one-time password (OTP) through Firebase Authentication
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately at support@movetara.com of any unauthorized use of your account
- One person may maintain only one active account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or terminated
- Accounts are personal and non-transferable
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are engaged in fraudulent activity
5. Searching & Booking Accommodation
5.1 Search & Listings
- Search results are based on your location (if permitted), search filters (city, price range, gender preference, amenities), and property availability
- Listing order may be influenced by factors including relevance, pricing, ratings, and availability — not by paid placement
- All listed prices are indicative and subject to change based on real-time availability until a booking is confirmed
5.2 Booking Process
- A booking is confirmed only when: (a) you have selected dates, room/bed type, and completed the payment, AND (b) you receive a booking confirmation in the App
- Until you receive a booking confirmation, no accommodation is reserved for you
- A confirmed booking creates a binding obligation between you and the Property Partner for the specified dates and accommodation
- You must provide accurate information during the booking process. Incorrect details may result in booking cancellation
5.3 Booking Modifications
- Modifications to confirmed bookings (date changes, room upgrades) are subject to availability and may involve price adjustments
- To request modifications, contact us at support@movetara.com or use the booking management section in the App
- Some bookings may be non-modifiable depending on the Property Partner's policy
6. Pricing, Fees & Taxes
- All prices on MoveTara Stay are listed in Indian Rupees (INR)
- Displayed prices include the base accommodation cost. Applicable taxes (GST) and any platform service fees are shown separately during the checkout process before payment
- The total price shown at checkout is the final amount you will be charged — there are no hidden fees
- GST is charged as per applicable rates mandated by the Government of India for accommodation services
- MoveTara may charge a platform service fee on each booking, which is clearly disclosed during checkout
- Prices may vary based on dates, demand, room type, and promotions. The price at the time of booking confirmation is the price you pay
7. Payments
- All payments are processed securely through Razorpay Software Private Limited, a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) licensed Payment Aggregator
- Accepted payment methods include: UPI, credit cards, debit cards, net banking, and select wallets — as supported by Razorpay
- Payment must be completed at the time of booking. No booking is confirmed without successful payment
- MoveTara does not store your payment card details, CVV, bank credentials, or UPI PIN. All payment data is handled exclusively by Razorpay's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure
- In case of payment failure, the booking is not confirmed. If an amount is debited but the booking is not confirmed, the amount will be automatically refunded to your payment source within 5-7 business days
- Razorpay may tokenize your card details for faster future payments, in compliance with RBI's card-on-file tokenization guidelines. This is managed by Razorpay and requires your consent
8. Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are governed by our separate
Refund & Cancellation Policy,
which forms part of these Terms. Key highlights:
- Cancellation eligibility and refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your check-in date
- Refunds for eligible cancellations are processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days
- No-shows (failure to check in without cancellation) are generally non-refundable
- Property Partner-initiated cancellations entitle you to a full refund

9. Check-In & Check-Out
- Check-in and check-out times are set by each Property Partner and are displayed on the property listing and your booking confirmation
- You may be required to present a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID) at check-in
- The Property Partner reserves the right to refuse check-in if you fail to provide valid identification or if the person checking in does not match the booking details
- Early check-in or late check-out is subject to the Property Partner's discretion and may involve additional charges
- You must vacate the accommodation by the check-out time. Failure to do so may result in additional charges billed directly by the Property Partner
10. User Responsibilities & Conduct
As a user of MoveTara Stay, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration and booking
- Comply with the Property Partner's house rules, policies, and reasonable instructions during your stay
- Treat the property, its staff, and other guests with respect
- Not damage, deface, or misuse the property or its amenities
- Report any safety concerns, damages, or discrepancies to both the Property Partner and MoveTara promptly
- Not use the property for any unlawful, commercial, or antisocial purpose
You agree not to:
- Create fake accounts, submit fraudulent bookings, or use stolen payment methods
- Manipulate search results, ratings, or reviews
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the App
- Circumvent any security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialize bookings made through the App
11. Property Partner Responsibilities
Property Partners listed on MoveTara Stay are required to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date property information, photos, pricing, and availability
- Honor all confirmed bookings at the agreed price and dates
- Maintain the property in a safe, clean, and habitable condition as represented in the listing
- Comply with all applicable local laws, licenses, fire safety regulations, and building codes
- Treat all guests fairly and without discrimination
- Respond to booking queries and check-in coordination in a timely manner
If a Property Partner fails to honor a confirmed booking, you are entitled to a full refund and we will assist you in finding
alternative accommodation where possible.
12. Ratings & Reviews
- You may submit ratings and reviews for properties where you have completed a stay
- Reviews must be honest, factual, and based on your personal experience
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that contain profanity, personal attacks, discriminatory language, spam, or content that violates applicable laws
- By submitting a review, you grant MoveTara a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute the review on our platform
- We do not edit or modify user reviews except for removing prohibited content as described above
13. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the MoveTara Stay App — including software, design, user interface, trademarks, logos,
icons, and documentation — are owned by MoveTara or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use MoveTara's trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent
- Scrape, crawl, or extract content from the App for any purpose
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law:
- MoveTara Stay shall not be liable for the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any property listed on the platform
- MoveTara Stay shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, theft, or dispute arising from your stay at a property
- MoveTara Stay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or opportunity
- Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid through the App in the 6 months preceding the claim
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable consumer protection law
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
- The App and all services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or harmful components
- We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any property listing, review, rating, or information displayed on the App
- We do not endorse any Property Partner, property, or accommodation listed on the platform
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MoveTara, its founders, directors, employees, and agents from and against
any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Any damage caused by you to a property during your stay
- Any dispute between you and a Property Partner
- Your provision of false, misleading, or fraudulent information
17. Dispute Resolution
17.1 Between You and MoveTara
- Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by emailing legal@movetara.com
- If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to mediation administered by a mutually agreed mediator in Hyderabad
- If mediation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India
- Nothing in this section limits your right to file a complaint with the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019
17.2 Between You and a Property Partner
- Disputes regarding property quality, amenities, safety, or conduct during your stay are primarily between you and the Property Partner
- MoveTara will mediate in good faith where possible and may take action against Property Partners who violate our standards
- You may report issues via the App or by emailing support@movetara.com
18. Termination & Suspension
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if:
- You breach these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 7 days of notice
- You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- You create multiple accounts or use someone else's identity
- You initiate chargebacks without first contacting our support team
- We are required to do so by law or court order
Upon termination:
- All confirmed future bookings will be cancelled, and refund eligibility assessed per our Refund Policy
- Your account data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 14-17) will survive
19. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes:
- We will notify you via push notification and/or in-app banner at least 14 days before the changes take effect
- The updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date
- Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms
- If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and delete your account
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, including:
- Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020
- Information Technology Act, 2000 and IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007
- Indian Contract Act, 1872
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction,
the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum
extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent.
22. Contact
